Years Later, It's All About the Bats

I'm in the process of creating a new Wordpress site for Master of Ceremony services I offer as the CryptKicker of Chicago. While that's being completed, I'm going to pop a relevant post here, on the old Chateau GRRR Cryptopedia blog.

Not too far away on the blogs is a little patch of beautiful black roses set amidst trellises of bone white ivory, coils of moon-lit vines wrapping their way delicately up them to spell "Goth Gardening".
At this very moment, the Goth Gardener is hosting a delightful contest for one of Occasional Bats' darling stuffed bats. This contest is designed to help small businesses, bat conservation, and spread a little gothy goodness for whatever winter holidays you celebrate.

Bats hold a special place in my heart. Growing up in the woods of Washington state, there were bats flitting about all the time. The crows and ravens ruled the dawn and day, and the bats the twilight and night. They are so quiet and peaceful, bobbing from place to place, catching insects in the air.

Of the many fellow bat-lovers and supporters out there, one I'd like to mention is For the Bats, a charity group that creates compilations of dark music to benefit bat rescue and rehabilitation. You can find Volume 1 here:

And they've opened submissions for any musicians and artists that would like to contribute to Volume II. The deadline for submissions for Volume II is Feb. 9th 2015

I eagerly purchased Volume I to help bats, but honestly didn't expect much from the music. You know, all those horrible Halloween compilations where they cram together a bunch of music that can be just barely categorized as Halloween... well, those kind of spoiled my expectations for compilations.

But not the case here! I was really impressed with the style and quality of the entire album! Check it out, and many thanks to the Goth Gardener for allowing this opportunity to further help bats and small businesses.
